Fingertips for your iPhone
Here are some of my latest tips for your iPhone maintenance:
Battery Life
- Turn off vibrate in games. This is a great way to save battery. If the settings in your game don’t provide the option, go to Settings > Sounds to turn off the feature.
- Turn off Bluetooth, WiFi or 3G except when needed. These are huge drains on the battery.
- Change your Push email to “hourly” or “manual.”
- Turn off the equalizer in your iPod settings.
Web Surfing
- While scrolling through a web page, just tap on the status bar to return to the top of the page.
- Hold a link in Safari to see lots of cool options.
- Like Safari on the Mac, you don’t need to do the whole “www” or “.com” thing for most sites. Just type in the word. For example, just type in “amazon” and hit go.
- You can surf during a call by hitting the home button (but only when connected to a WiFi network).
Typing
- You can access special characters, similar to “ТҤҾѕӘ” by holding down the letter. This doesn’t work for each letter, but a lot of them, especially vowels, will work.
- The same rule applies to currencies when you hold down the $ sign.
- You can hold down the shift key just like on a computer rather than going back and hitting it for each letter.
